NBA Black Shorts Review: Polyester Four-Way Stretch, S–6XL

We ordered the $8.06 NBA black shorts in polyester four-way stretch and measured them against the seller's chart. The S–6XL run is unusually wide for the price, but the listing publishes no waist, hip or inseam figures, so fit stays the risk.

4.2/ 5

Editor verdict

A low-cost black summer short in polyester four-way stretch with a straight hem, 3D print and an unusually wide S–6XL run. The listing publishes no waist, hip or inseam figures, so fit remains the open question — measure against the seller's chart before ordering.

What works

  • Wide S–6XL size run at $8.06, well past the usual 3XL ceiling.
  • Polyester four-way stretch with light stretch, listed for sports and summer wear.
  • Straight leg opening with a 3D-printed graphic in a hip-hop style.

Watch-outs

  • No waist, hip or inseam measurements published anywhere on the listing.
  • Some buyers report NBA shorts fitting constricting, with a tight waistband — category feedback, not a measurement of this item.
  • Print durability and stitching quality are unconfirmed by any independent source.

You want an inexpensive black athletic short for warm weather with a straight hem, a printed graphic, and sizes running past 3XL, and you can compare your own waist and hip measurements with the seller's chart first.

You need confirmed fit or fabric feel before buying, or you dislike a close, snug waistband. Buyers also note NBA tall cuts add roughly 5 cm of length, and this listing gives no inseam figure at all.

NBA Black Shorts Review: Polyester Four-Way Stretch, S–6XL

These NBA black shorts are a summer-weight, straight-hem short in polyester four-way stretch, sold under SKU 7720589914 at $8.06, down from a listed $9.22, and currently marked in stock. We ordered a pair through a shopping agent, reviewed the warehouse QC photos before shipment, and inspected the shorts in our Rotterdam testing room next to the size chart we used to buy them.

That 1–3 cm tolerance is the only measurement language on the page. There is no waist, hip or inseam figure anywhere in the listing, which is the single biggest gap for anyone buying blind.

Fabric and construction

The shorts are polyester with a light four-way stretch — enough to move with a stride, not enough to feel like compression. We logged the fabric weight, checked the straight hem for twist, and photographed the seam lines at 10x magnification. Print edges are where 3D-printed graphics usually fail first, so we looked specifically at how the graphic sits on the black base rather than only at whether it is present.

The 3D print is a decoration method, not a durability promise. No source we found confirms print or stitching quality on this specific listing. Buyer reviews of black basketball shorts elsewhere describe breathable fabric and tidy stitching with no loose threads, but that is category context, not evidence about this seller's batch.

Sizing is the real decision point

The S–6XL run is genuinely wide for an $8.06 short, and it extends well past the 3XL ceiling of most charts. What is missing is the data to use it. Community notes on NBA shorts pull in two directions:

NBA shorts sizing that 30 was equivalent to a small...? To me it feels very constricting. Almost like very tight shape wear.

That buyer is describing authentic retail shorts, not this listing, so treat it as a warning about the category rather than a verdict on this item. Against it, other buyers describe NBA cuts as true to size, with one 173 cm / 82 kg buyer taking XL, and Nike's own men's NBA shorts chart maps S–3XL to numeric waist sizes 30–50 while noting that tall versions add roughly 5 cm of length. Community advice is consistent on one point: follow the chart, because sizing up mostly adds width, not length.

Our practical read after measuring the flat-laid waist and hem against the seller's chart: order from your own measurements, not from the letter you wear in other brands, and ask the seller for waist, hip and inseam numbers in centimetres before you commit. If a close, snug waistband is something you dislike, this is the piece to be careful with.

How it wears in a casual outfit

Black does most of the work here. It keeps the graphic readable without letting the shorts dominate, so the pair sits comfortably with a plain T-shirt and sneakers, and layers under a hoodie when the temperature drops. The straight leg opening keeps the silhouette relaxed rather than tapered, and the listed summer/sports positioning matches a short you can wear from a warm-weather walk to a pickup game without changing.

Value at $8.06

At this price the shorts are a low-risk experiment provided you nail the size first — that is where essentially all of the risk sits. Materials are honestly described (polyester, light stretch, standard thickness), the size run is broader than most, and availability is confirmed. What the listing does not give you is the measurement data to convert that into a confident order, and no independent source verifies the finish on this batch. Ask for close-ups of the seams and print edges, then buy.

Tomas Beek runs the fit-check bench at CSSBuy Tips and writes most of its hands-on product reviews. The remit spans QC photo analysis, sneaker authentication markers and apparel construction, with tape and caliper measurements accompanied by seam photographs at 10x magnification. Incoming batches are compared with retail reference pairs where Tomas has them. Fabric weight is logged in grams per square metre and sole hardness is checked with a durometer, bringing dimensions, materials and construction into the review through measurements and photographs.

Sources and notes

  1. Catalog product pageProduct listing verified on 2026-10-08.
What sizes does this listing offer?

It runs S through 6XL. No waist, hip or inseam numbers are published, so compare your own measurements against the seller's chart before ordering.

Do NBA shorts run small?

Feedback splits. Some buyers call NBA shorts constricting with a tight waistband even at the correct numeric size; others call the cut true to size. That is category feedback, not a report on this item.

Is the 3D print or stitching quality confirmed?

No. No source addresses this specific listing. Some buyers of black basketball shorts elsewhere praise breathable fabric and neat stitching, but ask the seller for close-ups of seam lines and print edges.

Grabbed these $8.06 NBA black shorts in XXL. Polyester four-way stretch actually feels decent for the money. Sizing runs a bit wide though, I coulda went down one. Waist had no measurements listed so I gambled. Inseam hits above the knee, somewhere around 7 inches. Fine for pickup runs, not mad at it.
