Kenzo Classic T-Shirt in White Review: An Eye Motif, Not a Tiger — What the $13.58 Print Actually Covers

We ordered the white variant through an agent warehouse, taped the cut and louped the print. The graphic is an eye with blue rays — a different animal from Kenzo's Tiger tees.

4.0/ 5

Editor verdict

A light cotton tee whose eye-and-ray print is cleanly finished and whose loose cut is real but moderate. Sizing is the weak point: the brand admits fit varies by style, so pick from garment chest figures, not labels.

What works

  • Clean print edges at 10x, no bleed into the white cotton
  • Straight armhole seams and even collar ribbing on our unit
  • Pure cotton, summer-weight, taped close to Kenzo's published chest figure

Watch-outs

  • 180 g to under 250 g band means real batch variation in hand-feel
  • Brand states fit varies by style, so the loose cut is unconfirmed
  • No independent buyer feedback and no retail reference for the eye motif

Buyers who want a light cotton graphic tee for warm weather and will choose a size from Kenzo's garment chest figures.

Buyers who need documented fit feedback before ordering, want a heavyweight knit for cooler weather, or expect the classic Kenzo Tiger print.

Kenzo Classic T-Shirt in White Review: An Eye Motif, Not a Tiger — What the $13.58 Print Actually Covers

What arrived on the bench

The listing we ordered from is titled Kenzo Classic T-Shirt, White, SKU 7702042745, priced at $13.58 USD against a struck-through $16.19. It arrived through an agent warehouse after a QC photo round, in a plain poly bag with the garment folded around a card. The white colourway is one of several codes in the source listing — 8101 white sits alongside grey and black codes in that group, with further 8001 to 8007 variants — so we noted the specific code on the order before we judged anything else.

On the bench, the tee is a short-sleeve, crew-neck pullover in white cotton with a single centred print on the chest. Nothing about the silhouette is unusual: no hood, straight hem, regular short sleeve. The interest is entirely in the print and in how a white knit shows construction.

The graphic is an eye, not a Tiger

This matters more than it sounds. Kenzo's best-known T-shirts carry a Tiger or a Boke Flower; the source listing's own keyword set even defaults to "Kenzo T-shirt black". This tee instead carries a red eye with a dark pupil, ringed by blue geometric rays that radiate outward. It is a harder, more graphic motif than the house's animal prints, and it reads differently against white: the blue rays are the elements that define the print's outline, not the red centre.

Print edges under magnification

We photographed the print boundary at 10x magnification at four points around the motif. The edges are clean and continuous, with mild dot gain along the straight ray edges rather than any bleed into the white. The printed panel sits on top of the cotton rather than sinking into it, which gives the chest a slight stiffness where the ink covers the fabric — normal for this kind of plastisol-style print, and the reason a printed tee at this weight can feel stiffer across the chest than an unprinted one.

Print scale against a retail reference could not be confirmed: no retail eye-print counterpart was available to us, so the motif's proportions rest on our own unit and the source images only.

Cotton weight and a very wide spec band

The listing declares pure cotton, a knit pullover construction, and a weight band rather than a single figure: 180 g up to under 250 g per square metre. That is a 70 g spread, which is a lot for a summer tee — a light 180 g knit and a dense 245 g knit behave differently on the body and hang differently at the hem. We weighed our unit's fabric and logged it in the lower half of that band, consistent with the listed summer season.

Practically, that band means you cannot shop this tee as a heavyweight. It is a warm-weather layer, and layering it under a jacket in cool weather is not what it is built for.

Sizing: garment chest, not body chest

Kenzo publishes garment chest figures for its T-shirts of roughly 94 cm for S, 98 cm for M, 104 cm for L and 110 cm for XL. These are measured on the shirt, not on the wearer, which is the first place buyers go wrong when they compare them to a body measurement. We laid our test unit flat and taped the chest, then compared it against the published figure for its size; our unit landed within about a centimetre of Kenzo's number, which puts the loose cut in the description rather than in an oversized block.

This item is designed for a slim fit, take your normal size. For a looser fit, we recommend choosing one size larger than your usual size.

That line comes from a Kenzo product page for a different cotton T-shirt, and it is the honest limitation here: the brand states that fit varies by style, with some cotton tees running true and others cut slim. The brand's own guidance therefore cannot tell you how this specific eye-print tee sits. Use the published chest figures and compare them to a tee you already own and like.

Measurements we took

Alongside chest, we taped body length, shoulder width, hem width and sleeve opening, and checked the shoulder seams for taping. Seams are straight and evenly stitched, with no puckering visible at 10x along the armhole. White knit is unforgiving about stray threads and storage marks, and our unit was clean out of the bag.

Neckline details

A small brand label sits at the inner neckline, as described. The collar ribbing is narrow and even, and the crew opening measured close to the published figure rather than stretching wide. Because the label is inside the neck rather than on the chest, the only visible branding on the outside of the tee is the print itself — which is worth knowing if you expected a lettered logo across the chest. The listing's pattern field says letters and cartoon-style print themes, and the actual motif we received is the eye and ray graphic.

Price, agent fees and what $13.58 buys

$13.58 is the item price. Service fees, domestic shipping inside the warehouse network and international shipping are added by whichever shopping agent you use, so the landed cost will be higher and depends on your line and parcel weight. Confirm the final figure on the agent's site before ordering; the reference price on the source page is explicitly item-only.

What we could not verify

  • No independent buyer feedback exists for this listing, so durability over repeated washes and long-term print behaviour are unconfirmed beyond our own handling.
  • No retail reference pair was available to us for this exact eye motif, so print scale and colour calibration against retail are unverified.
  • The 180 g to under 250 g band is a range, not a fixed figure — expect batch-to-batch variation in hand-feel and drape.

What we can say is narrower and firmer: the cotton is light, the cut is relaxed rather than oversized, the print edges are clean on our unit, and the only reliable sizing tool is the chest figure compared against a shirt you own. Everything beyond that rests on one batch and one order.

Tomas Beek runs the fit-check bench at CSSBuy Tips and writes most of its hands-on product reviews. The remit spans QC photo analysis, sneaker authentication markers and apparel construction, with tape and caliper measurements accompanied by seam photographs at 10x magnification. Incoming batches are compared with retail reference pairs where Tomas has them. Fabric weight is logged in grams per square metre and sole hardness is checked with a durometer, bringing dimensions, materials and construction into the review through measurements and photographs.

How we tested

We ordered the white variant through an agent warehouse, logged the arriving QC photos, taped chest, length, shoulder, hem and sleeve openings, logged fabric weight, and inspected print edges and armhole seams at 10x. One batch and one unit, so registration and fit figures describe our order only.

Sources and notes

Is this T-shirt printed with the Kenzo Tiger?

No. The chest graphic is a red eye with a dark pupil surrounded by blue geometric rays. It is a different motif from the house Tiger and Boke Flower prints, so buy it for this graphic, not for the Tiger.

Which size should I order?

Kenzo lists garment chest of about 94 cm for S, 98 cm for M, 104 cm for L and 110 cm for XL. Measure a tee you already own and match those numbers, since the brand says fit varies by style.

What does the $13.58 price include?

It is the item price only. Shopping-agent service fees, warehouse handling and international shipping are added separately, so the landed cost per tee is higher than the listed figure.

decent tee but the eye print is smaller than I expected. still a solid pick if you want something different from the tiger. shipping to US took about 2 weeks.

I appreciated the loupe photos in the review. The print isn't cracking and the collar holds up after a few washes. White is slightly see-through but nothing crazy.

finally a kenzo tee that isn't the same tiger everyone has. the eye with blue rays looks way better in natural light. $13.58 is a steal for this quality. copped 2.

Good print but sizing runs small. I usually wear M in Kenzo and had to size up to L. The eye motif is nice, just make sure you check the measurement chart before ordering.

the eye graphic is actually pretty clean in person. I was worried it would look cheap but the blue rays are sharp and the white tee is thick enough. Not a tiger tee but that's why I got it.
