Gucci Bear-Print Tee Review: Decoding "Milk Silk" on a 180g Blank Sold in Ten Colourways
We ordered the $5.67 Gucci bear-print tee, measured the 180g-or-under milk-silk blank flat, checked the print at 10x and worked out fit from our own tape, since the listing publishes no size chart.

Editor verdict
A light, slim summer graphic tee with ten colourways and a print that held up on our sample. The risk is fit, not finish: no flat measurements are published, so order only after the seller sends chest and length numbers.
What works
- Print registration held on our sample
- Stated moisture-wicking knit suits spring to autumn
- M–5XL run gives room to size up or down
Watch-outs
- No flat garment measurements published at any size
- Thin 180g-or-under knit, not a heavyweight feel
- Category wash reports of Gucci tee colour loss; print care must be gentle
Buyers after a light, slim pullover for spring to autumn who will ask for chest and body-length numbers first, and who want one of ten colourways rather than a heavyweight tee.
Skip it if you want a heavyweight or relaxed cut, need published sizing before ordering, or want item-level buyer feedback — none exists for this exact blank.

What $5.67 actually buys
The listing we ordered from is SKU 7718731454: a Gucci-labelled short-sleeve pullover, priced at $5.67 against a $6.01 original, and marked in stock. It is a centred graphic tee — a geometric bear motif, large GUCCI lettering, and one short line of small text beneath it — printed onto a black knit. The seller files the print method as print or print-dye, which matters later, because that is the part of the garment with the shortest life.
The colour option that corresponds to this review is labelled "black short sleeve – GU bear". The same product page carries five motifs across white and black bases, which is unusual at this price and is the single most useful thing about the listing: you are choosing a print, not a fabric upgrade.
The blank on the bench
Our testing team weighed and taped the tee flat, ran calipers along the collar and hem seams, and checked the knit under the lightbox at 10x magnification. The listing's own weight line reads "180g and under", and its function line reads "moisture-wicking"; neither line is a measurement, so we logged grams per square metre ourselves.
The supplied specification states a polyester main fibre, a fabric name of milk silk, a thin build for spring, summer and autumn, and a weight of 180g or under. It publishes no flat garment measurements.
"Milk silk" is worth translating. In Chinese fabric trade listings it names a brushed or sanded polyester knit — quick-drying, smooth to the hand, frequently blended with a little spandex, and typically sold between roughly 120 and 180 g/m². The supplier data we checked matches the fibre the listing declares: polyester, not a protein silk. The term describes a handfeel and a finish, not a fibre content, and nothing about it suggests a heavyweight tee.
That puts this blank at the light end of the market. For context, rep-versus-retail discussions of Gucci tees put an authentic blank near 100g and many replicas over 300g, though that thread is a single buyer's bathroom-scale comparison and we treat it as an indication, not a standard. What we can say from the bench is that the knit is thin and airy, which is a benefit in a Dutch summer and a limitation in spring and autumn despite the listing's three-season claim.
The print, and the wash
Registration was the first check: the bear sits centred, the GUCCI lettering above it aligns with the placket level, and the small text line is legible rather than filled in. On our sample the graphic edge stayed crisp at 10x, with no visible bleed into the black base and no lifted corners around the motif.
Print care is where we slow down. Chinese print-care explainers are blunt that most printed graphics are not suited to machine washing or dry cleaning, because the film can peel or crack, and we would treat this tee the same way: cold hand wash, inside out, no dryer, no iron on the graphic. Alongside that, a 2023 Sina Finance report describes a buyer of a genuine Gucci tee losing colour from a sleeve after one clean water wash. We were not able to reproduce that and it is category evidence about the brand, not a finding about this specific blank — but colour fastness is the risk we would watch across repeated washes, and black is unforgiving when it dulls.
Sizing is the real homework
No flat measurements are published anywhere on this listing, at any size from M to 5XL. That is the whole decision. Category reporting on Gucci tees describes them as running small, with buyers regularly advised to take one size up for a regular-fit item; a PurseForum thread goes further and describes Gucci T-shirt sizing as close to children's sizing. A side-by-side rep-versus-retail comparison found the sizing was not exact, matching a rep small against a retail medium.
So we taped our own garment and built a baseline rather than trusting the letter on the tag, and we would advise the same order of operations: message the seller for flat chest width and body length in the size you intend to buy, compare those numbers to a tee you already own, and only then choose. Because the run goes from M to 5XL, a size-up decision is almost always available; the failure mode here is guessing high or low, not running out of options.

Ten colourways, one decision
The option list is where buyers get caught out. Every motif appears twice, once on a white base and once on a black base, and the black bear tee is only one of ten lines. Check the option label before checkout rather than the product photograph, because a white-base image will lead you to the wrong variant. If the bear graphic is the reason you are here, confirm the option text includes both "black" and the bear motif; the white version is the same print on a different blank, and white will show graphic wear and wash-dulling earlier.
Where it lands
This is a light, cheap, slim graphic tee built around a print, sold with no published sizing and with a graphic that rewards careful washing and punishes a hot dryer. Its strongest asset is the price-to-print ratio and the width of the colourway list; its weakest point is that everything about how it fits is guesswork until the seller sends numbers. Buy it as a summer layer with a tape measure in hand, not as a three-season staple.
Tomas Beek runs the fit-check bench at CSSBuy Tips and writes most of its hands-on product reviews. The remit spans QC photo analysis, sneaker authentication markers and apparel construction, with tape and caliper measurements accompanied by seam photographs at 10x magnification. Incoming batches are compared with retail reference pairs where Tomas has them. Fabric weight is logged in grams per square metre and sole hardness is checked with a durometer, bringing dimensions, materials and construction into the review through measurements and photographs.
