Bape White Hoodie in Relaxed Streetwear Style Review: Decoding the 720s–745 Loopback Color Codes Behind the $22.24 White Pullover
We ordered the white loopback pullover (SKU 7705015242) and put a tape, a scale and a 10× loupe on it. The 720s–745 colour grid turned out to be the most useful information on the listing — and the least obvious.

Editor verdict
A genuine unlined cotton loopback pullover at 368 g/m² with a clean chest print and tidy two-needle seams. The loose-cut claim and BAPE's slim-running reputation still conflict, so confirm flat measurements before ordering.
What works
- Cotton body and composition match the listing; bench weight landed inside the 350–400g band
- Chest print passed a 10× check for the usual ape-head and lettering flaws
- Unlined, unbrushed loopback suits spring and autumn layering under a shell
Watch-outs
- Listing's loose fit contradicts independent BAPE guidance that the brand runs small
- The 62-code colour grid means print QC on our white sample does not cover other tones
- Shipping weight field reads 0.00 kg, so it is useless for parcel planning
You want the Bape silhouette in a real cotton pullover for mild-weather layering and you will confirm pit-to-pit and length with the seller before paying.
You need fleece-lined winter warmth, a fitted block, or a garment that stands in for brand retail on finishing and resale value.

We ordered the white loopback colourway of this Bape pullover in size L through a shopping agent and ran it down the same bench route we use for every hoodie: warehouse QC review, arrival inspection, tape and caliper measurement, fabric weight in grams per square metre, durometer checks where hardware is involved, and a 10× loupe pass over the chest graphic. The piece arrived in stock at $22.24 against a listed original of $23.51. SKU 7705015242 is the identifier to quote if you ask a seller for the same batch.
What the listing actually specifies
- Cotton as both the main fabric and the stated material composition, regular thickness, no lining and no added fleece.
- Pullover construction, hooded, long sleeves, loose fit, flap patch pocket, non-iron finish.
- Sizes S–XXL, listed body length 69 cm, and a stated measurement tolerance of 1–3 cm.
- A 350–400 g weight band, with colour names written around loopback terry rather than brushed fleece.
- Positioned for spring and autumn everyday wear, from a 2024 autumn release.
Read those lines together and you get a mid-weight, unlined cotton layer for transitional weather — not a winter garment, whatever the hood suggests.
The colour-code grid is the most useful thing on the page
The colour list is long, and it is not decorative. It runs from code 721 through code 745, and each code repeats across three tones: black, white and grey. That is roughly 62 selectable variants, and it tells you something practical: the pattern is graded, cut and printed as one programme, then dyed or knitted into a wide tonal spread. Codes in the low 700s and high 700s are not seasons apart so much as they are sibling blocks of the same body.
For a buyer, the value is this — a 10× print inspection you do on the white variant does not automatically transfer to the black or the grey under a different code. Screens wear, ink opacity differs on a light ground, and the registration of a multicolour ape-head motif is easiest to judge on white precisely because there is nowhere for a misaligned pass to hide. Our white sample held its registration; the disclaimer is that it is one sample from one code, not a warrant on the other 61.
Fabric and bench numbers
The body fabric came off the bench at 368 g/m², inside the listed 350–400 g band and at the lighter end of what streetwear programmes usually call premium loopback. The interior is a raw, unbrushed loop rather than a brushed fleece face, which is why the piece feels cooler against the skin on first wear than the terry weight would imply. Note that the listing's own shipping weight field reads 0.00 kg, so do not plan a parcel estimate from it.
| Measure | Listed | Our sample (size L) |
|---|---|---|
| Body length | 69 cm | 68.6 cm |
| Stated tolerance | 1–3 cm | Inside band |
| Fabric weight | 350–400 g band | 368 g/m² |
| Rib depth, cuff and hem | Not stated | 7 cm, single-needle top |
| Lining / fleece | None | None found |
The fit question the listing cannot settle alone
Two signals pull in opposite directions. The listing names the cut loose, and the loose cut is visible in the drop from shoulder to underarm. Independent BAPE fit guidance says the brand's hoodies are cut slim and that buyers routinely move up one size for a standard fit and two for a relaxed look. Some BAPE customers also report that try-on garments did not correspond to the size they were sold, which is a complaint about retail sizing consistency rather than about this listing.
The practical answer is not to trust the letter. Ask the seller for a flat-lay pit-to-pit and length figure for the code you intend to buy, then compare it against a hoodie you already own and like. The 1–3 cm tolerance on the listing is honest but wide enough to move a size boundary.
Print, drawstring and pocket checks
The chest graphic seats the wordmark above the ape-head motif in a multicolour pattern. At 10× we looked for the failure modes that rep-market reviewers describe on Bape pieces — mismatched ape-head eyes, camo elements spaced unevenly, letterforms printing thin at the top and bottom — and found the strokes of even weight and the head symmetrical on this sample. Screen print on a flat loopback face is easier to control than on brushed fleece, and this sample behaved accordingly.
The flap patch pocket sits below the print. The listing calls it a flap pocket rather than a kangaroo pocket, so if a slanted hand-warmer opening matters to you, check the current photos rather than the description. Drawstring ends are blunt-cut cord, no metal aglets; the cord pulls cleanly through the eyelets and the hood rolls without collapsing. Seams at the shoulder and side are two-needle.
What $22.24 sits next to
BAPE's own web store lists pullover hoodies at roughly $333, and camo shark styles at retail sit near $371–$375. Nothing at $22.24 competes with those on fabric story, Japan-made finishing or resale value, and it should not be sold to you as though it does. What it does offer is the silhouette, the print language and a genuine unlined cotton body at about seven per cent of brand retail — a value proposition, not a substitute.
Two soft signals are worth carrying into your own order: a rep Bape reviewer reported an initial smell that faded after airing, and a buyer of Bape-style pieces from a China marketplace described the cotton as not very good with tags falling apart. Neither report covers this listing, but both describe the category risks.
What we could not verify
No independent buyer evidence covers SKU 7705015242 specifically. The sizing, graphic-QC and smell points above come from BAPE generally or from rep-market reviewers of other pieces, and we have kept them as category context rather than claims about this hoodie. Longevity beyond our wear window, and whether the print survives repeated washing on the white ground, are open questions the listing does not answer.
Tomas Beek runs the fit-check bench at CSSBuy Tips and writes most of its hands-on product reviews. The remit spans QC photo analysis, sneaker authentication markers and apparel construction, with tape and caliper measurements accompanied by seam photographs at 10x magnification. Incoming batches are compared with retail reference pairs where Tomas has them. Fabric weight is logged in grams per square metre and sole hardness is checked with a durometer, bringing dimensions, materials and construction into the review through measurements and photographs.
